News about Andy Lumsden, our Director of Music

Andy Lumsden is to step down from his role as Director of Music at the Cathedral , but to continue as DoM of the Waynflete Singers.

The Cathedral news shared on Monday 29th April came as a surprise to us all, but we are delighted to announce that he will continue with the Waynflete Singers at least until a permanent successor is fully established at the Cathedral.

He has made an immeasurable contribution to music in Winchester, and to the wider choral world. We are grateful for his outstanding choral direction, and that we shall receive his continuing involvement.

He will conduct us for our July 6th Summer concert, our Christmas concert on December 7th, and what promises to be a very special Verdi Requiem on Friday April 4th 2025. For more details please see our concerts page.
